A successful space has to be beautiful, functional, and to create a sense of well-being."

The story

How the eye was formed — Emilia-Romagna

Alessandra grew up until the age of sixteen in Emilia-Romagna, in a culture where architecture, proportion and respect for beauty are part of everyday life — not of a museum visit.

The aesthetic sensibility was not learned at university, it was lived. That is where the sense of proportion that cannot be taught comes from: the reason a hallway she designs reads wider than it is, and a full room reads settled.

Turning it into a profession — Oradea

At sixteen, the return to Romania and the decision to turn that sensibility into a profession: the Faculty of Architecture and Construction at the University of Oradea, working on real projects from the second year onwards.

The technical training is the part that makes the difference in practice. A trained eye sees that something is wrong; an architectural training knows why, by how much it has to move, and what that move does to the services.

Maturing — eight years of practice

Today, roughly eight years of practice, across homes and commercial spaces. The approach is centred on proportion, light, materials, function, and the state of mind a space produces.

Every project starts from understanding the people who will live in it: what time they get up, where they drop their keys, how many sit down to eat on an ordinary Sunday. The aesthetics come afterwards — and they last precisely because they come afterwards.

How the studio works today

Di Marzo Studio works on a single thread: brief, concept, 3D visualisation, technical documentation and presence on site. Nothing is handed on to somebody else halfway through.

For complex architecture and design projects the studio works in collaboration with a professional team of architects, so that the project is delivered as quickly as possible and the execution stages are phased optimally for the client.

Studio principles

Three principles

01

A space is thought through once

Decisions are made on paper, in full, before the first order. Whatever changes later is paid for twice.

02

Every decision has a reason

Nothing enters the project "because it is fashionable". Every euro is spent once, and can be accounted for.

03

Aesthetics in the service of real life

A successful interior is measured at seven in the morning, not only in photographs. Beauty that gets in the way of daily life is not beauty.

How we work

You make the decisions. We carry the weight.

Every stage closes with your written approval, and between stages the studio carries the research, the comparison of offers and the coordination of the trades. For complex architecture and design projects we work in collaboration with a professional team of architects, so that the project is delivered as quickly as possible and the execution stages are phased optimally for the client.
